How the Zodiac Signs Recover from Breakups?

How will each sign know they’re ready to start dating again after a breakup?

One school of thought says that for every year in a serious relationship you should wait at least half the time before jumping into your next one. Some people think this is conservative and go from “ex to the next” with no healing period at all. Everyone has their own approach to dealing with breakups. No matter how we deal with them, we do all tend to need time to recollect ourselves.

Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 19)

Some star signs do move on faster than others–such as Aries. Aries have a lot of love to give and they need to be able to express it. Hence this is one of the signs that could rebound quickly. They need somewhere to direct their romantic fiery nature. Aries are very honest in general, so they need to just be honest with themselves. Have they given themselves enough time to heal before starting anew or are they just branch swinging? It’s important for Rams to reflect before jumping back into dating.

Taurus (Apr 20 – May 20)

Taurus need a lot more time. Being of a “Fixed Earth” modality, they are the slowest in the Zodiac to change and to get over things. They are extremely loyal and once they open their heart to someone will do everything in their power to really make it work. It’s Important for Taurus to not beat themselves up if they are not getting over someone as fast as they ‘think’ they should (or as fast as their friends think they should). Taurus need to learn to give themselves no pressure and take things day by day. Their internal voice will let them know when they are ready to get back out there. 

Gemini (May 21 – Jun 20)

When Geminis are ready to start dating again, they will find themselves being more upbeat and saying yes more often to social invitations. Even though they are the most social of all the signs, in breakups they can need time to retreat, so once they find themselves going out instead of making excuses, they know they are ready to start meeting someone new. 

Cancer (Jun 21 – Jul 22)

Cancer is one of the most nostalgic signs, so Cancerians tend to replay memories a lot in breakups and also get triggered by things that tend to remind them of their ex (a smell or an old song that reminds them of slow dancing up in Tulum with their boo). When Cancer starts wanting to listen to more upbeat jams and isn’t focused so much on dwelling on memories, they know they are ready to move on.

Leo (Jul 23 – Aug 22)

As a fixed fire sign, Leos can take more time on split than their other fiery companions (Aries and Sagittarius), however, they generally know they have bounced back when their Sun doesn’t feel like it has been eclipsed anymore. Once they start enjoying attention again and get back up on center stage, Leos know that they are ready to receive that love again from someone else. Besides if you have other admirers, why cling to the past?

Virgo (Aug 23 – Sep 22)

As an Earth sign, Virgos feel break-ups literally in their body more physically than others, hence they take longer to process. Virgos will know they are ready when they totally feel no criticism towards their ex.  As Virgos can be nitpicky, they can do a lot of evaluations post-breakup–both on themselves and their exes. When this inner critic has been silenced, they know they are ready to get back on the carousel. 

Libra (Sep 23 – Oct 22)

Libra tends to veer towards passive aggressiveness in break-ups. Either not taking ownership of what went wrong from their side or painting their ex in too positive of life. Libra’s will know they are ready to move on when they really feel like they have made peace with the past. Once they tend to not get worked up about their ex and can see the relationship in a fairer objective light (including what they were or were not brought to the table) it is a good sign that they are ready to move forward. Luckily being an Air sign and coupled with the natural tendency to always want to be in partnerships Libra’s do tend to come to this balanced space quite quickly. 

Scorpio (Oct 23 – Nov 21)

Scorpios can be, shall we say, obsessive, so once they start feeling that obsessive vibe for someone new it’s a great sign–for a Scorpio’s love life, may not as much for the object of their obsession/affection. 

Sagittarius (Nov 22 – Dec 21)

Sadge is a sign that is very honest, so in breakups, they tend to evaluate what they want out of their next relationship. They are the ones who tend to see splits as a way to focus on themselves and their own needs, rather than look for a new relationship. This can happen quite quickly: they don’t need a long time to reevaluate. 

Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 19)

Capricorns can be pretty hard on themselves in breakups, so they need to release themselves any self-judgment or recrimination. Capricorns will know they are ready to start dating again when that negative self-talk in relation to an exes clears up and they can see positives not just in themselves but in their old flames.

Aquarius (Jan 20 – Feb 18) 

Aquarius is super independent so their life doesn’t fall into too much disarray during breakups, however, they can feel lonely and can isolate themselves a bit. While It’s totally normal to feel lonely post-breakup, Aquarius should definitely use that time to connect with their friends and family. While it is good to spend time by yourself, a general indicator that Aquarius is ready to move on is when they find themselves genuinely being able to do things independently by themselves without feeling anxiety or loneliness. 

Pisces (Feb 19 – Mar 20)

Pisces will know they are ready to start dating when they find themselves daydreaming about someone different than their ex! Pisces are ruled by Neptune, so they are the dreamers of the Zodiac and spend a lot of time in this nebulous area. They tend to almost dream relationships into being. So, you can be sure when Pisces is envisioning a new fantasy relationship that it’s a great sign for them moving forward.
