Uranus in Taurus Transit – Online Meeting Applications

Uranus in Taurus Transit – Online Meeting Applications

Uranus in Taurus Transit began in December of 2019 and will last until July 2025. The last time Uranus was in Taurus was 1934 to 1942. It is easy to identify these years as the time of the Great Depression and the beginning of World War II, and those events can certainly reflect Uranus in Taurus. But, more interestingly, Uranus in Taurus represents breakthroughs in technology and social norms that revolutionize everyday life. This article will look at current and future impact of online meeting platforms.

Uranus in Taurus Transit

Each point in the sky rules a specific sign; when that point is in that sign, its energy is strongest and its effects last the longest after its journey through that sign. Even though Uranus does not rule Taurus, it does make a noticeable impact when going through this sign because the point and the sign could not be more opposite.

Uranus brings breakthroughs, shocks, and revolution. Taurus conserves, supports traditions, and prefers for things to “stay the way they are”. So, you can imagine that this transit is likely to impact the fundamentals in life (Taurus) in revolutionary ways (Uranus) while it moves through the sign from 2019 to 2025.

History Repeats

It is interesting to study astrology over the course of human history and see how the patterns cycle through, especially when seen through the lens of the outer planets Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. In the case of Uranus, the cycle happens every 84 years for an 8-year span. In the case of Neptune, the cycle happens every 165 years for about a 14-year span. And Pluto returns to a sign every 247 years for anywhere from 17 to 31 years.

Therefore, it is not surprising that, as an aspect of American history, the period between 1935 and 1942, and the years soon after, when Uranus entered Gemini, would be one of astounding breakthroughs in technology and societal norms. Let’s just consider a few profound examples: rocket power for planes, with the development of the Heinkel He 176 in 1939; the discovery and use of nuclear fission (1938), which lead to the development of the atomic bomb; and women entering the workforce in support of the war (1940 to 1945). Each of these, and many more, fundamentally redefined reality (Taurus) in shocking ways (Uranus).

Like so many things happen during this transit, that breakthrough, the real question remains, “what will become part of the new normal?” Even though online meetings offer a work from home or at a distance solution, how feasible is it to scale up and put into practice across the country? Of the many Uranus in Taurus breakthroughs happening at this time, this one is already a part of the norm and will continue to be part of normal private and business life for the foreseeable future.

Uranus in Taurus and Online Meeting Platforms

Online meeting platforms thrive now, thanks to the impact of the pandemic and the vast improvements in internet connectivity and speeds. Improvements in bandwidth and file size compression have helped this technology be more like Star Trek than would have ever been possible before the turn of the century. It is now possible to talk to a person in real time, on a stable connection, and watch a video of them without disruption over a distance of 40,000 miles (halfway around the world).

It was miraculous achievement when the first transatlantic call was made on January 7, 1927 using radio wave technology, when Uranus was in Pisces. The next significant transatlantic call took place on September 25, 1956, using the TAT-1 cable system, when Uranus was in Leo. And the first cell phone call was made on April 3 1973, when Uranus was in Libra. Each of these milestones aligned with the breakthrough energy associated with a particular sign: a breakthrough for imagination (Pisces), a breakthrough for entertainment (Leo), and a breakthrough for relationships (Libra).

Changing the Landscape of Education and Work

The top three competitors that are settling in as the norm for video conferencing are Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet. As these three platforms, and many others, compete for market share, their impact on education and work cannot be overstated. Much of the work that has gone remote has been able to do so thanks to these platforms existing when the pandemic hit (Google Meet was Google Hangouts at the time).

Without this technology the impact of the pandemic would have been even more severe, especially for children and young people in primary school. The significant increase in need led to leaps in quality and design, with Zoom paving the way.

Many people who were able to transition to work from home situations discovered how much time they wasted and money they spent getting to and from an office, the time contributing nothing to productivity. The results for education were much more problematic, largely because the education system tried to make online versions of in-class teaching instead of tearing the whole process apart and rebuilding it as an online concept from the ground up.

Even as the business and education worlds attempt to “return” to the way things were, the impact of the upheaval of the pandemic that pushed online meeting technology to the forefront is not likely to fade. In fact, it will probably stabilize and begin steady growth to a dominant role in work, where the work does not require an office in a building to complete what is needed.
